Life coaching is a partnership focused on helping you identify your goals, overcome obstacles, and create actionable plans for the life you want. Unlike therapy, which often explores past wounds, coaching is forwardfocused on where you want to go and how to get there. I ask powerful questions, challenge limiting beliefs, and hold you accountable as you make meaningful changes in your career or life.
Therapy typically addresses mental health issues, past trauma, and emotional healing. Coaching assumes you're mentally healthy and ready to move forward—you just need clarity, strategy, and accountability. If you're dealing with depression, anxiety, or trauma, therapy is the right choice. If you're feeling stuck, unfulfilled, or ready for change but don't know how to make it happen, coaching is ideal.
I practice a client-centered approach that combines active listening, powerful questioning, and practical tools. My style is warm, direct, and non-judgmental. I create a safe space where you can think out loud, explore possibilities, and discover solutions you didn't know you had. As an ICF PCC and an EMCC Accredited Senior Practitioner, I follow established ethical guidelines and professional standards
Each structured session has sufficient flexibility to accommodate anything that comes up, and how each client prefers to work. Every session is unique, and I like to provide options so you can decide which approach(es) suit you best. Where appropriate, some of the tools I use include, but are not limited to: visual aids, metaphor, drawing and movement.
You absolutely could try to figure things out alone—and many people do. But consider this: professional athletes have coaches, successful executives have coaches, and entrepreneurs have coaches. Why? Because having someone objective to challenge your thinking, spot your blind spots, and keep you accountable accelerates progress dramatically. Most of my clients wish they'd started coaching sooner.
This varies by individual and goal. Some clients work with me for 3-6 months to navigate a specific transition like a career change. Others continue for a year or more as they work on deeper personal development. We'll discuss your goals in our initial conversation and create a timeline that makes sense for you. There's no pressure to commit long-term upfront.
Clients typically experience greater clarity about what they want, increased confidence in making decisions, concrete action plans, and accountability that keeps them moving forward. Specific outcomes depend on your goals—whether that's finding a new job, transitioning careers, improving work-life balance, or rediscovering purpose. Most clients report feeling "unstuck" within the first few sessions.
Most clients meet with me bi-weekly (every two weeks) for 60 minute sessions. This gives you time to take action between sessions while maintaining momentum. Some clients prefer weekly sessions during intense transition periods or for interview practice (normally urgent ;-) ), while others move to monthly check-ins once they've gained traction. We'll find the rhythm that works best for you.
I conduct all coaching sessions in English. Even though I am based in Belgium and work with many expats here, my coaching is delivered in English.
I offer both options. For clients in the Brussels-Leuven area, we can meet in person. For those elsewhere in Belgium or internationally, I conduct sessions via Zoom or phone (WhatsApp). Online sessions are just as effective—what matters most is the quality of our conversation, not the medium. Where clients are local I can provide in person sessions in an indoor or outdoor setting. (Walking and coaching is fantastic - weather permitting)
I ask for minimum 24 hours notice if you need to reschedule a session. Life happens, and I'm flexible when unexpected situations arise. Consistent cancellations without notice may require us to revisit whether coaching is the right fit at this time.
I'm a long-term expat myself and understand the unique challenges of building a life and career away from your home country.
Expats often lack the family and friend support systems they had before, face cultural adjustments, deal with work permit complications, and sometimes feel isolated. I've lived this experience and can provide both coaching expertise and genuine understanding of the expat journey.
I do have regular Belgian clients too, so not just expats. see next FAQ
No, while expats are a significant part of my practice, I work with anyone feeling stuck in their career or life who wants to make meaningful changes. My clients include Belgian nationals, other Europeans, and people from around the world. What matters is that you're ready for change and willing to do the work.
Yes, I can help you think through how to present your experience effectively and what story you want to tell. However, I'm not a CV writing service—I won't write it for you. Instead, I'll help you gain clarity on what roles you're targeting, identify your unique value, and ensure your materials reflect the authentic you. Many clients find this coaching approach more valuable than having someone write it for them.
Absolutely. In fact, this is one of the most common situations I work with. Many people know they want change but don't know what that change should look like. Through our conversations, we'll explore your values, strengths, interests, and what truly matters to you. Clarity emerges through this process—you don't need to have it all figured out before we start.
Fear of making the wrong decision often keeps people stuck for years. We'll work on understanding what's driving that fear, exploring your options thoroughly, and developing a decision-making framework that feels right for you. Remember: not deciding is also a decision—one that keeps you exactly where you are. Coaching helps you move forward with greater confidence.
I want this to be valuable for you. If after a few sessions you feel coaching isn't helping, we'll discuss it openly. Sometimes the timing isn't right, or perhaps a different coach's style would suit you better. I'm committed to your success, even if that means referring you elsewhere.
The easiest way is to call me directly at +32 (0) 496 27 39 05 or use my online calendar to book a free 30- minute conversation. We'll have an informal chat about where you are, where you want to go, and how coaching might help. No commitment required—just a conversation.
If your question isn't answered here, I'd love to hear from you. Contact me on +32 (0) 496 27 39 05 or book a
free conversation to discuss your specific situation
Remember: The cost of staying stuck is often greater than the investment in moving forward. What's the cost you pay to remain where you are?
